Do’s & Don’t for an Interview

Do’s
o Arrive at least 10 minutes early.
o Dress professionally whether it’s a classic or casual work environment.
o Rehearse for your answers by going through possible questions that you might be asked.
o Have more than one copy for your papers ; CV, ID’s, Certificates….etc.
o Be confident, courteous, honest, polite and sharp.
Don’t
o Chew gum or drink anything.
o Talk on your cell phone.
o Have a companion.
o Ask about the salary at your first interview.
o Lie about previous experiences.

More interviews tips

Useful tips, I would like to add the following

Do:
  • Any applications handed before the interview begins, are to be filled in as accurately as possible, make sure they match the information in your Cv and Cover Letter.
  • Always greet the interviewer by his/her last name and try to pronounce it correctly.
  • Have a good firm handshake.
  • Look alert and interested. Scan the room once and then keep your eyes on the interviewer.
  • Wait until you are offered a chair before you sit down.
  • Stress your achievements.
  • Always conduct yourself professionally and if something beyond your control occurs, show a sense of humor.
  • Be enthusiastic and show it in your replies and body language.
  • Answer the interview question by more than a simple yes or no but try not to go over the 60 second limit.

    Do not:
  • Raise any cost complaining about your current or former employer in your job interview.
  • Answer questions about politics or religion if the job is completely unrelated.

Common job interview mistakes

Not doing your homework about the company and preparing adequately for the interview beforehand shows you up as an uncommitted and unprofessional candidate.

The best way to impress in your job interview is to demonstrate your interest by referring to your company background research in both your interview answers and questions. For a free guide on how to do this you can go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
