Business Analyst Required Immediately

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst with between 3 to 5 years experience with reasonable capabilities, Bachelor degree level min, and some previous experience in banking/fin institution industry.
This is for a contract position in Qatar, minimum term 6 months with opportunity to extend further.

Areas of knowledge Required and Description:
Business process management:
1. Use a standardised BA methodology and tools to map & document business processes.
2. Develop, maintain and entrench a centralised business process library.
3. Improve effectiveness and efficiency of business processes.
4. Assist in ensuring an integrated and single view of business.

Business case development:
1. Conduct research on strategic initiatives and market trends.
2. Research and report on industry and market best practice.
3. Ensure enabling technology opportunities are explored.
4. Conduct feasibility studies.
5. Develop business cases.
6. Ensure agreed positive ROI before proceeding with any initiative.

Business Analysis:
1. Represent business in working with IT to analyse requirement gaps and to identify and implement standards and solutions across all business areas.
2. Analyse business requirements and develop Business Requirement Specifications.
3. Assist business in prioritising business requirements.
4. Use a standardised BA methodology and tools to document business requirements.
5. Review Technical Specifications to ensure SRS is understood and adequately satisfied.
6. Assist business in reviewing Technical Specifications.
7. Analyse data requirements and perform gap analysis between needs and data on hand.
8. Analyse data, collate and summarise at various levels.
9. New systems: Implement workable business processes & business transition planning.
10. Assist business and IT in determining system interfaces to support information sharing.

Project implementation:
1. Project planning and management if part of a specific project’s mandate to the business analyst, else assist Project Manager with planning and management.
2. Focus on Project Deliverables and milestones.
3. Highlight and manage scope creep.
4. Ensure Change Requests are controlled and prioritised according to business objectives and requirements.
5. Provide input to Programme Management on coordination across business areas.
6. Assist with Business Change Management aspect of projects.

Quality management:
1. Ensure implementation of effective User Acceptance and Data Conversion Testing Strategies, in conjunction with IT.
2. Development of effective test cases.
3. Verify System and User testing results.
4. Escalate, document and mitigate project and business Risks.
5. Ensure appropriate QA sign-off of all deliverables and outputs.
6. Ensure standards and consistencies are applied across all business areas.

Budget management:
1. Ensure solution and analysis process are cost-effective.
2. Highlight expenditure variances and risks.

Training:
1. Development of training manuals and presentations.
2. Ensure appropriate training of new/enhanced systems from a business perspective.

Problem Solving:
1. Assist with problem definition and the generation of solution options.
2. Ensure most appropriate, effective and efficient solution is reached.

Facilitation:
1. Facilitate workshops, JAD sessions and negotiations between business, external participants and IT, and assure the most appropriate business solution is agreed.
2. Assist with conflict resolution between business areas, external participants and IT.
3. Assist business to prioritise production system efforts over development efforts.
4. Enable business communications between business areas and between business & IT.
